I just come back from Cannes in Cairns event, corporate rendezvous and tropical escape in one. Amazing!
Over 1,000 attendees, over 100 speakers, 10 + networking events and a trip to the reef on the last day. What a blast, a great way to do business and learn. It’s great fun getting up close and personal with some of the biggest names in Adland. Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Jane Caro AM, Susan Coghill, Karen Nelson-Field PhD and brilliant Mark Ritson, just to name a few.
Very interesting topics and many controversial panel discussions. Here are just a few golden nuggets, as my takeaway.
From Mark Ritson: “Go for former customers. It’s dumb, but it works. Go for clients that bought from us in 2021, but didn’t buy in 2022“.
From Melissa Hopkins: “The traditional funnel is dead. It’s more a marketing loop. The funnel is from 1980, we need to move on”.
From Zoe Foster Blake: “ It’s better to be at the bottom of the right ladder than on the top of the wrong one”.
With every challenge in business, it’s an opportunity. And if we bring creative thinking to the process we can achieve a better outcome. Now it’s time to implement the learning and experiment.
